The Pantanal is to the Americas what the Serengeti is to Africa. The aquatic heart of South America showcases some of the most breathtaking gathering of mammals, birds and reptiles that you could ever hope to see.The numbers in the world's largest wetland can challenge credulity; in short it is a wildlife-watchers paradise.
After flying into Cuiaba we travelled south to Pouso Alegre at Pocono then further south along the Transpantaneira which must be the most challenging highway/track in the world, to our main destination Porto Jofre. Our return journey involved a stay at Pixiam in Rio Clara.
